CRYOPERL® is non-flammable

Vapours released from LNG when it returns to the gaseous phase can be flammable if not handled properly and safely. These vapours can only be generated when LNG leaves a temperature-controlled container. Heating causes the gas to liquefy again. Initially, the gas is colder and heavier than the surrounding air. It forms a mist - a vapour cloud - over the released liquid. As the gas warms up, it mixes with the surrounding air and begins to disperse.

In such a hazardous situation, it is crucial that there are no materials in the vicinity that could cause the vapour cloud to ignite. With CRYOPERL® you are on the safe side: while other insulation materials have a heterogeneous structure, CRYOPERL® is homogeneously structured. The advantage: no adhesives are used to join the various components, which in turn could cause reactive outgassing.

Another advantage of CRYOPERL® is that it is easy to process. While fibre-bound insulation materials, such as those based on glass fibre, release respirable and carcinogenic fibres and dusts, there is no need for any special precautions with CRYOPERL®. After all, perlite is also used to filter fruit juices, to grow tomatoes and even in toothpaste!

This harmlessness is also appreciated by insurance companies: Ask us for a cost comparison estimate based on your specific parameters.
